Day Ten in Rome:
On the last day of the tour, there were no technical plans with the entire Group. Some members of the group were sticking around in Rome for an extra day or two.
We decided to go to a Vincent Van Gogh Exhibit at the Palazzo Bonaparte near the Victor Emmanuel Monument.
It was marvelous to see works by the artistic genius Van Gogh. (Could you imagine what he could have done artistically if he had lived longer?)
After wondering through the Palazza, we did a "Urban Hike" through the streets of Rome to the Borghese Gardens to enjoy some leafy greenery and nature.
After leaving the park, we traversed to the Church of Santa Maria Della Vittoria to check out the sculpture of the Ecstasy of Saint Theresa by Bernini (absolutely STUNNING, by the way).
On the way back to the hotel in the late afternoon, we finished off the day in the Collegio International Del Gesu.

Day Eleven in Rome:
Today was our little group's last full day in Rome(!!!)
We booked a bike tour through Rome. The company that we booked the tour through (Top Bike Rental and Tours) paired us up with an enthusiastic, knowledgeable local guide to lead our small group around the city. (It was so much fun to take the bike tour if you have a few hours free in Rome. The bikes used on the tour were electric bikes that helped with some of the hills in the city and outside the city limits on the Appian Way).
It was fun to bike over the Appian way and past some of the ancient acquaducts!
The amount of engineering required to build those acquducts to carry water down to Rome from far distances.
During the bike tour, the group took a small detour off the Appian Way to take a guided walk through the Catacombs of San Callisto.
in the ancient Roman Times, there were no cemeteries in the city limits of Rome, so catacombs and burial grounds were set up outside the city.
After the bike tour, we walked past the Colosseum and the Circus Maximus to try checking out the Mouth of Truth! (Legends say that if you stick your hand in the Mouth, your hand will be "bitten" if you are a liar!!!)
Early the next day we flew out of Rome back home.
